"Science's Heart Beat in Tokat: 6th Eurasian Biochemical Approaches and Technologies Congress Successfully Concluded"

Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University hosted a significant international scientific organization. The 6th Eurasian Biochemical Approaches and Technologies Congress (EBAT), sponsored primarily by TÜBİTAK and supported by Tokat Municipality and Tokat Regional Directorate of Foundations, brought together distinguished representatives of the scientific world in Tokat between October 24-27, 2024.

The congress, held at our university's modern 15 July Congress and Culture Center, was attended by hundreds of local and foreign scientists from 40 different universities. During the four-day congress, the most current research in health sciences and chemistry, innovative technological developments, and scientific findings were shared with participants. The sessions facilitated productive knowledge exchange between academics while exploring new collaboration opportunities.

The congress program was supported by a rich social and cultural program alongside its academic content. During specially organized city tours, participants discovered Tokat's fascinating historical and cultural riches. Guests walking through the authentic atmosphere of Historic Sulusokak had the opportunity to visit the magnificent Seljuk period works of Yağıbasan Madrasah and Gökmedrese. Scientists witnessing the city's rich history at Tokat Museum experienced the architectural beauty of Ali Pasha Hammam and Mosque and the spiritual atmosphere of the Mevlevihane. The unique formations of Ballıca Cave, representing natural beauty, enchanted visitors.

One of the most notable events of the congress was the special Sema performance attended by the esteemed Governor's wife, Tokat National Education Director, Tokat Regional Director of Foundations and their spouses, and our Dean. This impressive ritual of Mevlevi culture was watched with great interest by both local and foreign guests.

In addition to the scientific program, participants had the chance to explore Tokat's rich culinary culture. Guests who tasted local delicacies expressed their admiration for Tokat's gastronomic richness.

The EBAT congress, organized for the sixth time this year, became an internationally resonating organization with both its scientific content and cultural program. With contributions from valuable scientists from around the world, we laid the groundwork for important discussions and collaborations in health sciences and chemistry. At the same time, we had the opportunity to introduce the unique values of our ancient city Tokat to the global scientific community.

The congress was significant not only for sharing scientific research but also for promoting Tokat's academic, cultural, and touristic potential on an international platform. The success of the organization will serve as a promising example for similar events to be organized in future years.
