Our Faculty Vice Deans, Asst. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Serkan Avşar and Asst. Prof. Dr. Fatma Göç, organized a technical visit to France within the scope of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) Action CA23123 - weedingMAPs.
As part of the project activities, the delegation visited the ITEIPMAI (Institut Technique Interprofessionnel des Plantes à Parfum, Médicinales, Aromatiques et Industrielles) Institute located in Chemillé-en-Anjou, France.
Meeting with officials at ITEIPMAI, one of Europe's leading technical research centers in the sector of medicinal and aromatic plants, our delegation received detailed information about the R&D projects and sustainable production techniques carried out at the institute. Within the scope of the visit, new generation methods aimed at reducing chemical use in medicinal plant cultivation, in line with the European Green Deal goals, were examined on-site.
Decision for Joint Collaboration with IPGRB Institute, Greece
One of the most significant outcomes of the visit was the expansion of the international academic network. Within the scope of the program, a meeting was held with Dr. Paschalina Chatzopoulou and Chemist Eleni Lalidou, researchers from the Institute of Plant Breeding and Genetic Resources (IPGRB) based in Thessaloniki, Greece.
In line with the academic synergy achieved during the meetings with colleagues, it was decided to conduct joint scientific studies in the future.
Through this technical visit, our faculty had the opportunity to examine current developments in Europe on-site and added new ones to its international collaborations through bilateral meetings.
