Operating under the Faculty of Pharmacy at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, the TOGÜ ŞİFA Pilot Production and Analysis Center brings science and industry together through herbal product development, comprehensive analysis services, and hands-on training opportunities.
Rector of our University, Prof. Dr. Fatih Yılmaz, visited the TOGÜ ŞİFA Pilot Production and Analysis Center, established within our Faculty of Pharmacy, to examine the ongoing projects on-site. During the visit, Rector Yılmaz was accompanied by vice-rectors, the secretary-general, and rector advisors.
Working in integration with the strong academic infrastructure of the Faculty of Pharmacy, the center focuses on the development, analysis, and pilot-scale production of herbal-based health products. By bridging the gap between scientific research and production processes, the center stands out as a concrete example of our "Productive University" vision.
Within the scope of R&D activities carried out at the center:
Cosmetics and Personal Care: Formulation and production of various creams and cosmetic products.
Herbal Supplements: Specialized herbal teas with completed standardization for health benefits.
Hygiene Products: Original disinfectants enriched with local scents, using World Health Organization (WHO) approved formulations.
In addition to production, the center provides extensive laboratory services to regional producers and researchers. Using advanced technological devices such as GC-MS and LC-MS/MS, the center conducts essential quality controls including essential oil analysis, active ingredient determination, pesticide analysis, heavy metal tests, and microbiological evaluations.
TOGÜ ŞİFA is not only a production facility but also serves as a unique practice area for the students of our Faculty of Pharmacy. Our students have the opportunity to experience every stage of production—from raw material extraction and product standardization to quality control and packaging—applying the theoretical knowledge they gain in their courses.
During his inspections, Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Yılmaz emphasized that the center is a strategic point contributing to both the industry and the academic world. He extended his gratitude to our faculty management and academic staff for their dedicated work.
